TERMS & CONDITIONS

. The Little Merdeka Parade & Costume Contest ("Contest") is organised by Sunway Velocity Mall Management ("Organiser").
. The Contest is open to children aged 5 to 13 years old only.
. Participation is free of charge and limited to one (1) entry per participant.
. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to availability. The Organiser reserves the right to close registrations once the maximum number of participants has been reached.
. All participants must complete the official registration form prior to the closing date. Incomplete or inaccurate registration details may result in disqualification.
. The Contest will be held on 30 August 2026 at Sunway Velocity Mall.
. Participants must report to the registration counter at least 30 minutes before the event commences.
. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify participants who fail to report on time.
. Participants must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the duration of the event.
. Participants are required to wear a Merdeka-inspired costume incorporating the colours of the Jalur Gemilang. Traditional attire and creative interpretations of Malaysia's heritage are encouraged.
. Costumes must be appropriate for a family-friendly environment and must not contain any offensive, obscene, discriminatory, political, religious or inappropriate elements.
. Participants must complete both the Parade of Patriotism and the on-stage judging session to be eligible for prizes.
. Judging will be based on the following criteria:
- Creativity & Originality – 25%
- Interpretation of the Merdeka Theme – 25%
- Costume Presentation & Craftsmanship – 25%
- Stage Presence & Overall Impression – 25%
. The judges' decision is final and binding. No correspondence, appeals or disputes will be entertained.
. Each winner is entitled to one (1) prize only.
. All prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash, whether in part or in full.
. The Organiser reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of similar value without prior notice.
. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any additional costs incurred by participants in relation to the Contest or prizes, including but not limited to transportation, accommodation, meals, taxes or any incidental expenses.
. The Organiser shall not be liable for any lost, stolen, damaged or unused prizes after they have been presented to the winners.
. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their costumes, props and accessories are safe and do not pose any danger or obstruction to themselves or other participants during the event.
. Parents and/or legal guardians shall be fully responsible for the supervision, conduct and safety of their child throughout the Contest.
. By participating in the Contest, participants and their parents/legal guardians consent to the photographing, filming and recording of the participant during the event. The Organiser reserves the right to use such photographs, videos and recordings for advertising, publicity, promotional and marketing purposes across any media platform without further notice or compensation.
. By participating in the Contest, participants and their parents/legal guardians agree not to hold the Organiser, its employees, agents, sponsors or affiliates liable for any injury, loss, damage or expense arising from participation in the Contest, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.
. Visuals used in all advertising and promotional materials are for illustration purposes only and may differ from the actual event setup and prizes.
. By participating in the Contest, participants and their parents/legal guardians agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions and all decisions made by the Organiser.
. The Organiser reserves the right to amend, vary, postpone, suspend or cancel the Contest and/or these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice.

OWNERSHIP / USER RIGHTS
. By participating in the contest, the participants grant Sunway Velocity Mall’s the right to use any photos and/or material received during the period (including the Participant’s name, email address, contact number, photos, videos, etc.) for advertising, marketing and communication purposes without compensation to the Participant, his or her successors or assigns, or any other entity affiliated with the Participant.
. Sunway Velocity Mall reserves the right to reject any entries that are inappropriate, incomplete, suspicious or invalid.
. Sunway Velocity Mall reserves the right to end the photo contest period earlier or extend at its own discretion.
. By submitting the registration form, participants and their parents/legal guardians consent to the collection, use and processing of their personal data by Sunway Velocity Mall Management solely for the purpose of administering the Contest, contacting participants, verifying eligibility and for promotional purposes in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
